             abstract = "This paper proposes the development of a method for identification 
                         of the start date desforestation. In this paper will be presented 
                         the pertinence functions created, based on fundamental concepts of 
                         fuzzy logic, for presence estimate soybean crop in desforestation 
                         areas with base in the rules of soybean moratory definied by 
                         ABIOVE and ANEC. During the process of realizing this paper it was 
                         taken into account two premises: identify the start date of 
                         deforestation and the presence of soybean crop in defined periods 
                         of analysis. Given this, all procedure performed in this paper was 
                         based in the multitemporal Moderate Resolution Imaging 
                         Spectroradiometer (MODIS) enhanced vegetation index (EVI) product 
                         based on images acquired from January 2001 until July 2010. In the 
                         phase of identification of the soybean crop, we used the CEI model 
                         proposed by Rizzi (2009), where the indexes greater that 0,28 
                         reflect the existence of soybean crop in that analyzed area. 
                         Although the proposed procedure was applied to soybean crop and 
                         deforestation. It also seems to be valuable to detect, calculate 
                         and map other crop plantation with well defined threshold values 
                         for the analyst.",
